 Using Linux
« Thread Started on Nov 6, 2009, 6:40am »

GDay all being the rebel I am I have decided to run Linux (Ubuntu)operating system and ditching windows software although it is causing a few compatibilty issues I must admit it runs considerably better and has a GI the same as windows so it was easy to change ..I also can run all my office word software on on a program called OpenOffice which is free to down load and use ...a few hiccups are happening but i am sure we will overcome them the beauty of Linux is it is opensource and takes Billies monopoly away which I think is gr8...

Is anybodi here using Linux what are your thoughts ::) ::)

I have the new Windows 7, and I shall say it is better than any Windows out there (95, 98, XP, Vista). I do not have Linux on my personal computers, but have played around with it and seen its features. I can see where you can really like it and less the headaches. If you ever go back to Windows, I recommend Windows 7. Ever since I switched, I haven't had any problems with programs not responding, sudden shutdowns, etc. I think they finally listened to people with this newer version. IMAGINE THAT--LISTENING TO YOUR BUYERS!!! LOL

Yes Ubuntu is great. You may have some hitches initially, but once you get fluent in the commands you see its more efficient than microsoft products.
