Even an existing members coming back to the forum after the V4 upgrade, will have to activation their account


If you have not recieved your activation or password

Most times the email sent goes to a Junk mail folder, depending on your server

Check that your Junk Mail option is not set to "Delete junk e-mail immediately upon arrival". If your Junk mail is set to delete mail upon arrival...the mail may never reach the member.

If this is the case with your email
change your Junk mail setting (Usually in "Options")
Then try this: (this was the click me option from the message above)

If this you still don't recieve it or have problems changing your settings! Don't fret...Try this one last thing!

TIP: I don't have assess to the activation codes, they are sent from proboards. I'm not sure why the proboard activation code isn't going to some email address' but I do know that the codes are coming to hotmail accounts. This has been working the best with those who aren't getting the code needed

Having seen these before from another forum i moderate, i believe that these are spam bots and can be prevented by disabling guest posting

Yeah, that's exactly what they are. I don't want guests to not be able to get help though, especially if they're trying to get on the board as a member. The best I can do is delete and block IP [image]

I assume the Ip's are dynamic, they just keep coming back, ive done this hundreds off times, its just a case of delete or block guests >.>

Make sure your email isn't sending your confirmation email to your spam folder. You get a link from that email to activate your account. Until you get that email and follow the directions, you won't be able to log in.
A lot of times, an email filter will either put your email in spam or delete it before it even gets to your inbox.

Also, I looked up membership using the IP addy
Here's what I found

Username: zhnkiu
Email: jburian000@hotmail.com


It won't tell me the password
but if the email is wrong, I can fix that
and a new confirmation password will come by email
