Pirates, pirates
Never bored!
Why we love to
Use our swords
We love to search
For treasure and gold
For we are never scared
Just courageous and bold
We love it when
We sing our songs
When 1 pirate starts
We all sing along!
The best part of all
Is finding new land!
And if it has a lot of gold
Why, its so grand!
I love being a pirate
I love looking for buried treasure
Because for once in my life
I feel pleasure
So...
Pirates, pirates
With our treasure chest
It has the most gold
Because we're better than the rest!

To be free from restriction
to be loosed from cruel bonds
to roam, to wander
to truly belong
To be at Nature's mercy
her call and her whim
to fight relentlessly
to battle and win
To break and to take
with no guilt or remorse
to sail the world wide
with no bearings or course
To be broken and beaten
to be challenged and lose
to lose hope entirely
to never call truce.

The Pirate Charon
By Paul (3 votes)
Floating on your own cloud nine,
Swishing and swaying in comfort,
Riding high on the crest of a hazy white wave,
Feeling like heavens angel for a short while,
Your mortal soul in mortal coil serenely frolics
In its last grasp of freedom carelessly flutters on hallowed high.
With pitchfork pincher thongs eager in wait,
He watches while your almighty saviour sleeps,
To snatch you up and take you down underground,
With blood curdled winged demon eyes and gritted smile,
Is the pirate of death with cowl and hammer,
Who silently lingers as you slowly but surely die.
He pillages your happy thoughts and darkens your plighted mind,
Across the woeful swampy stream of Acheron
The filthy bearded ferryman spirit Charon
Brings more victims for a price,
In his right hand his pole is rowing,
As he grasps your lifeless body in his left,
To Hades the abode of the dead,
He buries your treasured soul with the rest.

In pieces of eight we cargo our freight
If ye dare cross us ye be as shark bait
In times of trial we draws on our cutlass
In times of ale we hunt fer a loose lass
If ye see that thar flag ye better go flee
Cos bet on the first you’ll see (wi)ll be me
If ye be wealthy make sure yer be stealthy
Cos if we catches ye yer wont be so healthy
A parrot have I jim lad be his name
Blithering great budgie a right bloody pain
Jolly roger our flag of skull and cross bones
