Hi
When I was learning English, I learned complete sentences first and then discovered individual words within the sentences.

Hi there Caitie and Farkas, I though that I was reading a load of gobbledegook at first then I realised that I was actually reading it and understood it. very strange indeed. yeah it was the same for me with spainish but I still only speak it slightly but can understand it when someone is talking.
Thank you both for the reply.

This was funny, but very interesting. So we only read the first and last letters of words and sorta scan the others I suppose? Hmmm. I guess so, though it was still quite a strain to read this, but not much. Spelling is still important. And here i thought I was a bad typist - I was daed wnrog - lol
Oh the things that amuse me. I have this problem with sometimes wanting to say words backwards, it drives my husband insane, he hates it.. though I don't blame him at all.. at least I can type
