GDady..... It is Bewt to see the variety of poetry here some makes me just stand in awe, conceed an tips me slouch hat.... but sadly one thing that gripes me and I am sure others is the post and run of some poets ...because we value your work we also value your critique and comments these help us ALL in updating correcting grammar so are very valuable to us as writers... so please come on we all should commit to commenting and not just picking our friends but the real challenge is getting into the mind of the newbie strangers who pop by ..it not only makes em feel welcome but encourages them to comment on your work...so come on guyz lets get some fire into the board and help each other to grow and maybe become famous one day..who knows maybe one day one of us or many of us may just do that and we will proudly be able to say ...I help that poet in his or her journey ..with my critique to become famous...yah never know it might just happen...Please give me some feedback on this post and tell me what yah think.....or suggest

I agree with you. but it's alot easier said than done. It would be really cool if this site was the 'myspace' if the poetry world.
And as the rules say, for every poem you post, you need to reply to another, but every body should just feel free to reply to alot of them, not just one so they can feel better posting their poem.
Some days I dont post, I just go through and reply to others. I know lately I havent been on, but my computer is broken, and it's going to take alot of money that we dont have to fix, right now I'm on a friend's lap top.
Every body loves input whether you like the poem or not, but if not, please be nice about it; 'constructive criticisim' Tell why you didnt like the poem, and sujestions to fix it.
I see on here alot of the same people replying to every post, I hardly ever see anybody else replying to posts, and it saddens me because I like alot of different opinions, and i like to see new faces... well on here it would be screen names. lol
I'm going to stop babbling now before this turns into a long reply lol

GDay Yep some poetry sites require you to post a minimum of two relevant comments per post and sometimes it is a great way to heat up the Ol muse by reading and immersing yourself in the wonderful variety of poetry that appears on this board ...By critiquing you can also hone in your own skills as well

yeah, sometimes I come up with poems when I'm replying to others. I think that's how I came up with 'Dark Melody' or it could be another one

GDay I think we have hit on an interesting side subject here ...what is really our muse or what is it that inspires us to write what we write and the only thing I can say is although it comes from deep inside it also relies on the environment to which we exist in and that includes reading ..but most importantly the ability to take a subject and meld with it emotionally no matter what...maybe it is emotion that is the true muse ...Waddya think ...how do others here have an affair with our muse???

I completely agree with both of you.. This site at one point was closer to what you're talking about.. but not so much anymore. I know I sorta took a hiatus here for some time... so I feel bad about that. But it was hardly just me... And the new members posting a few and then walking. Its upsetting and I know you have to have passion to do this. I would love this site to be the myspace of the poetry world. My only theory is that myspace aspires a lot out of boredom and people killing time, and showing off. Its fun and social, but its not passionate like real poetry is and the brilliant poets are. I do know this. When I was extemely active here, I posted to a lot of peoples poetry, critiqued it, read it over and over and I always wrote more of my own. The more your here, the better is it for you and everyone else and it just breeds.. I myself will really try to be here more, and also maybe eventually post a new poem of my own. Its been so long, so sad really. Anyway, great thread here, hope more people read this and think about it...

Believe it or not, I actualy hate myspace. I pick on my boyfriend for having an account. Your definately right that myspace has no passion. Like Stewie says on Family guy 'I use other people's creations and make them my own to express myself' where as on here It's nothing but our own creations.
My muse is mostly emotion, like when I'm depressed, or angry. or sometimes I come up with poems when I'm giving people advice. Or sometimes, it just comes to me.
